Why Pond Filtering is Important
Pond filtering helps to maintain a healthy pond ecosystem by removing excess nutrients, debris, and other harmful substances that can accumulate over time. This can prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and algae, which can lead to poor water quality and health issues for fish and other aquatic life. Additionally, a well-maintained filter can help to improve the overall appearance of the pond and make it a more pleasant place to visit.
About the FiltoClear 31000
The OASE FiltoClear 31000 is a premium pressurised filter for garden pond water-quality maintenance. It is ideal in Koi and Goldfish ponds.
Pond suitability:

- Goldfish ponds up to 15m3 (15,000 litres)
- Koi Carp ponds up to 7.5m3 (7,500 litres)
Features of the FiltoClear 31000:
- Enhanced filtration: It uses multiple layers of patented filter foam technology to provide mechanical and biological filtration, removing debris and harmful substances from the water.
- Easy to clean: The pressurized design allows for easy cleaning by using the top handle to squeeze the filter foams, redirecting the outlet flow to pump out dirty water.
- UV sterilization: The integrated 60 watt UV lamp sterilizes the water to help control algae growth, and can be replaced easily.
- Energy-efficient pump: The premium pond filter typically comes with an energy-efficient pump that optimizes flow and reduces energy consumption.
- Aesthetically pleasing: The high-quality housing can be partially buried and the return pipe can be elevated for a stream or waterfall return to the pond, improving the overall appearance of the pond.
The FiltoClear 31000 is recommended to be used with:
- Pump: AquaMax Eco Range (4000 to 16000)
- Flexible Hose: Fits sizes 1 ½” (38mm) and 2” (50mm)
A pump and hose is required with this item, as water is required to be pumped through the FiltoClear. See the image below to see example usage
The pump intakes pond-water which is pressurised through filters in the FiltoClear 31000, then clean water is output to the pond
Changing valve direction and pulling the top handle squeezes the internal sponges for easy maintenance
